FTA SWAPS FASHION WITH THE FDCC: Studio (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM)

- Toronto’s first high-end designer fashion swap, aimed to raise awareness for how even elite fashionistas can reduce their fashion footprint. Swapping clothes prevents them from going into landfill, so it’s a fun and wallet-friendly way to get “new to you” designer pieces, and at the same time be environmentally friendly.

- Saniya Khan paints a deep romantic and philosophic picture with the debut of the fall/winter 2012 collection. A favourite amongst Canadian fashion critics, Khan returns to World MasterCard Fashion Week for the sixth time. The line continues her hallmark designs of layering and beading but combines old and new materials of hand-dyed and painted silks, velvet, lace and leather with block prints and appliqué.

- Taddeo’s collection fuses smoky tones with hot flashes of red. It mixes tencel wool, double-wool jersey, seersucker silk chiffon and gauze, and our trademark soft-stretch jersey with Japanese leather, suede and Red Fox. Doomed Generation presents minimalistic silhouettes that invoke the soft yet strong TRAVIS TADDEO woman. Doomed Generation is a collection inspired from current world events and the growing turmoil that is surrounding us. In the midst of this social chaos emerges a determined woman who is confident and defiant.

RAD BY RAD HOURANI #5: Runway (8:00 PM)

- A favourite at New York and Paris Fashion Weeks, Rad Hourani will make his Canadian debut showing his RAD by Rad Hourani #5 collection. With gender agnosticism as the driving conceptual force in Hourani’s unisex designs, his objective is to create versatile, luxurious clothing that can be worn by anyone at any time. Hourani’s film Five Years of Rad Hourani will be screened before the show to celebrate the fifth anniversary of his namesake line.

DARE TO WEAR LOVE: Runway (9:00 PM)

- Hoax Couture and the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC) have collaborated on the third Dare to Wear Love runway show to raise awareness and funds for the Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF). More than 25 Canadian designers will showcase their one-of-a-kind ensembles on celebrity models created from six yards of African-made fabrics. Canadian designers include: Paul Hardy, Hoax Couture, Linda Lundström, Diavecmas, Peach Berserk, Zoran Dobric, Lida Baday, Lovas by Wesley Badanjak, Ines Di Santo, Damzels in this Dress, Pat McDonagh, Tina Ou, Pam Chorley for Fashion Crimes, Marty Rotman, Jason Meyers, Izzy Camilleri, Farley Chatto, David Dixon, Brian Bailey, Avioanni, Adrian Wu, Cydelic by Choryin, Rod Philpott for Shkank Inc., Susan Dicks and Co, Franke and Greta Constantine.

Celebrity models to walk the runway include Breakfast Television host Dina Pugliese; Fashion Television host Jeanne Beker; celebrity chef Jamie Kennedy; CityLine host Tracy Moore; ET Canada's Angie Smith; actor Arlene Duncan (Little Mosque on the Prairie); Donisha Prendergrast, granddaughter of the great Bob Marley; and singer-songwriters Royal Wood and Sarah Slean.

At the closing of the evening, Stephen Lewis, chair of the board of the SLF, and former UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, will give an inspiring speech. Throughout the show guests will also enjoy live musical performances by Krystaal, Erroll Blackwood and Canadian gospel singer Kathy Grant.
